One of the world’s leading manufacturers of industrial sensors SICK enhances its IoT skills with the acquisition of MOBILISIS
SICK focuses on innovations involving software sensor solutions in the context of Industry 4.0 and the associated digital transformation. This purchase strengthens SICK’s competence in the wireless networking of industrial IoT devices. MOBILISIS completes SICK’s portfolio of cloud and edge solutions based on sensors. The goal is to create seamless connections between sensor data and cloud platforms, making a major contribution to rapid networking between the worlds of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) .
During the last years, MOBILIZE successfully extended its core business with intelligent transport systems, fleet management and corresponding cloud applications, and fulfilled the role of distributor and system integrator for SICK in Croatia. The activity in Croatia and in the region will also be strengthened in collaboration with SICK. The Mobilisis fleet management solution remarkably complements SICK solutions in the logistical processes of monitoring the flow of goods in the distribution chain after the goods have left the warehouse. As a leading manufacturer of quality solutions and sensors, SICK also brings greater stability and quality to the entire production program of intelligent traffic and parking solutions.
“Since our creation, we have been advancing our innovations involving Industry 4.0, IoT and mobility. This is why our staff play a decisive role. We employ experienced specialists whose individual distinctions enrich our teams. Our strategic partnership with SICK AG since 2017 also accelerated our growth and improved our reputation in the market. We are very proud of the merger and to become a valued member of the SICK group. We are sure that we can achieve even more success together. “- Goran Kanižaj, Managing Director of MOBILISIS
“With the experienced colleagues of MOBILISIS, we will be able more quickly to propose digital sensor system solutions and services â, explains Dr Niels Syassen, Member of the Board of Directors of SICK AG. A first step is to expand our portfolio of digital location solutions within and between companies in the context of Industry 4.0 – beyond fixed conveyor systems and shop floor applications. Users will thus be able to obtain transparency on the location of their goods as soon as they leave the stationary conveyor systems. We have already developed the first sensor solutions with MOBILISIS, bridging the gap between sensors and ITAdds Dr Niels Syassen. He talks about joint development projects – including the TDC-E series of edge / gateway products, the SIM2000ST-E, a system controller for tracking and tracing applications, beacons for indoor tracking, as well as programming for tracking solutions.
The two partners took the opportunity to get to know each other better during collaborations during the last years: “Our cooperation with Mobilisis has been very confident and rewarding. We hope to continue this in the new structureâ, Dr Niels Syassen describes the joint work of the two companies.
Mobilisis is developing a modern and innovative IT infrastructure for the management of industrial and commercial processes, as well as the collection and transmission of mobile data.
