SAN ANTONIO, September 17, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Nearly 88% of employees have instant access to their compensation and benefits information, regardless of where they currently work, according to the results of the 2021 “Getting Paid In America” survey conducted by the American Payroll Association (APA). This is a four percent increase over last year’s results.

“For today’s workforce, self-service technology has become a tabletop issue,” said Tom hammond, vice president of corporate strategy and product management at Paychex. “Employees expect the technology they use to select and maintain benefits, report time worked, request time off and facilitate their compensation to deliver the same streamlined and intuitive user experience as the technology they use. in all other aspects of their daily life. “

Technologies in the workplace, such as self-service employee portals, allow employees to view their payroll and human resources information anywhere they have Internet access. This has been particularly helpful for employees who continue to work remotely due to the pandemic. Self-service portals give users multiple options to view their payslips, enter time and attendance information, enroll in employee benefits, and monitor time off at their convenience.

The annual survey asked, “Does your employer provide a self-service portal for employees where you can access your payroll and benefits information online?” Almost 88% of respondents, or about 18,654 people, indicated that their employer provides a self-service online portal for employees.

“Employees want their payroll team to help them quickly access their earned salaries, provide them with tools to model future earnings, and educate them on strategies to maximize net compensation. To achieve this, organizations must prioritize modernizing their payroll function, ”said Jayson Saba. , Senior Director of Product Marketing at UKG.

The “Getting Paid In America” survey was conducted in conjunction with the APA’s annual public awareness campaign, National Payroll Week, September 6-10. Over 22,000 people responded to the survey, providing insight into how people are paid in America. For the full survey results, visit www.nationalpayrollweek.com.
